Zoot Suit at Mission College • OPEN AUDITIONS!

Hello!
In case we haven’t met, my name is Bob Cucuzza and I run the theatre program at LA Mission College. We have a very exciting show coming up in Spring 2026—Luis Valdez’s classic musical, Zoot Suit. We’re opening up auditions beyond Mission, hoping to turn this production into an extraordinary and relevant community event.
 

"Auditions for acting roles will be held on December 6, 2025. Although Zoot Suit is technically a musical, there are many roles for non-singers and non-dancers. For a list of roles, audition requirements, and schedule info, visit www.lamcstage.com.

Luis Valdez’s groundbreaking musical, Zoot Suit, premiered in 1978 in Los Angeles, bringing the unfiltered Chicano experience to the community from which it was born. The show uses the mythological figure, El Pachuco, original music by Lalo Guerrero, and swing and mambo dancing to carry this undeniably American tale of culture clash in the 1940s to the Los Angeles of today. This production, the largest in LA Mission College Theatre’s history, is seeking actors to bring Valdez’s Los Angeles to life in our AMP Theater."
