South LA Neighborhood Network Design Lab and Tree Adoption

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), in partnership with the City Plants, KYCC, Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI), and MIG, Inc. will be hosting a remote public workshop 'South LA Neighborhood Network Design Lab and Tree Adoption*' on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 as part of LADOT's Planning for Stress Free Connections. The purpose of the Design Lab is to identify potential street design solutions to reduce cut-through traffic and make bicycle and walking more comfortable and stress-free on these neighborhood streets in South LA that are designated on the Neighborhood Enhanced Network in the City's Mobility Plan 2035.

Workshop participants that are LA city residents will also be eligible to receive a free fruit or shade tree*

When: Saturday, January 22nd, 2022
Time: 11am - 1 pm

*Tree Adoption

  • Trees are in limited supply. There is a 7 tree limit per household; up to 2 of the 7 trees can be fruit trees.

  • Participation in the Neighborhood Network Design Lab is required to receive a tree

  • Trees will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Only those who are LA City residents and LADWP customers are eligible to receive free trees.

  • Trees must be planted in the ground on private property (not kept in planters or containers).
