Wendy Greuel was named chair of the Los Angeles city and county agency commission that oversees homeless services, it was announced Wednesday.
The former L.A. city controller and City Council member was named 2016-2017 chair of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority Commission. She was appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to the 10-member group earlier this year.
Greuel replaces Mike Neely as chair. In a statement she said she was “honored to be named chair at a time when homelessness has become the most pressing issue” in the region.
The LAHSA commission also unanimously approved Rabbi Noah Zvi Farkas as vice chair. Farkas is affiliated with Valley Beth Shalom and founded Netiya, a faith-based network focused on growing food.
