Marc Wanamaker is a native of Los Angeles and lived in the West Hollywood-Beverly Hills all of his life and attended Beverly Hills and Los Angeles schools and graduated from Los Angeles City College, California State University at Northridge and continued graduate work at UCLA and USC in the fields of Theatre, Music and History. For five years Marc Wanamaker was an instructor at UCLA Extension teaching the history of the Motion Picture Industry in the United States. Marc Wanamaker established the Bison Archives in 1971 as a research and informational archives specializing at first on the history of the Motion Picture Industry. The Archive focused on the Motion Picture Studios and later expanded into the history of Southern California and Los Angeles. Within the archive is one of the most important and respected photographic collections on the subjects mentioned above.
Marc Wanamaker, with over fifty years of research experience after working at all the professional Research Libraries at the major motion picture studios during the 1980s and 1990s, gained enormous experience with the history of the motion picture industry and California history and became a professional researcher and Los Angeles City historian having founded or co-founded several historical societies in the Los Angeles area primarily with the founding of Hollywood Heritage and establishing the Hollywood Heritage Museum. Marc Wanamaker became a historical research consultant and technical advisor on many film productions both feature and documentary working with producers, writers, art directors, and major film studios. Over the decades Marc Wanamaker became affiliated with museums, and archives specializing in the history of the motion picture and television industries. He is an associate historian with the Los Angeles County Museum, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, California State Library in Sacramento, the Getty Research Institute and the Los Angeles City and County Library systems

Comments from the public on agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that are within the Outreach Committee’s jurisdiction will be heard during the General Public Comment period. Please note that under the Brown Act, the Committee is prevented from acting on a matter that is brought to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Committee meeting. Public comment is typically limited to one minute per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Committee.

Your Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Neighborhood Team Program (NTP) is hosting our next Neighborhood Staging and Deployment Pop-Up Drill in Studio City!

These drills will rotate around the City of Los Angeles but all are welcome even if you don't live in the area or don't live in the City of Los Angeles.
Come join your community and NTP/CERT on Saturday, May 20th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The drill will start promptly at 10am so please be here BEFORE 9:30am to allow for time to sign in. The drill will end at 12pm and a 30 minute hot wash will be conducted immediately after. We expect to be out of there by no later than 12:30pm.
